Ruthless Fraud Examiner.
Susan Gunn has spent more than two decades helping dental practice owners get a clear picture of their financial reality—so they can lead with confidence, not confusion. What started as a surprise discovery (dentists didn’t always know the true costs of running their business) has grown into a nationwide consulting practice focused on turning financial chaos into clarity.
With deep roots in both business automation and behavioral insight, Susan pioneered the use of back-to-back accountability between practice management software and QuickBooks—a system now widely recognized for preventing embezzlement and supporting sound financial decisions.
She’s a Certified Fraud Examiner with a background in criminology, a longtime Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and the author of more than 40 books on financial organization in professional practices. Susan has contributed to several American Dental Association publications, including The ADA Practical Guide to Expert Business Strategies, and was recognized by the ADA as a Financial Matter Expert in 2015. She was appointed as an ADA Consultant to the Council (2016–2017) and served as a Guidelines for Practice Success Expert from 2018 through 2021.
Susan also served as Treasurer for the Academy of Dental Management Consultants from 2013 to 2016. In November 2015, she was honored with the Academy’s prestigious Charles Kidd Spirit Award in recognition of her leadership and lasting contributions to the field.
Her consulting and investigative work have helped countless practices build systems they can trust. Her speaking style blends humor, real-life stories, and practical tools—making complex financial topics not just understandable, but actionable.
Based in Arlington, Texas, Susan is actively involved in her community, serving in local leadership roles and proudly supporting her hometown Texas Rangers.
Her mission remains simple: help practice owners protect what they’ve worked so hard to build—through systems, accountability, and just enough tough love.
